lens does not communicate aperture to camera, November 11, 2011 By  munish - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Mamiya 120mm f/4 Manual Focus Macro Lens for 645-AF (Electronics) I confirmed with keh.com that this can be used with mamiya afd II camera but practically speaking this is not the right lens for afd II as the lens being older generation does not communicate with the camera. you have A and M on the lens. As you close down the aperture it physically gets closed down making focusing etc difficult and hence can't really be used for shooting people unless you are shooting fully open. For this price it is good enough for product / macro photography as one can focus and set the shot and then close down the aperture to take the picture. Do not buy if you need to shoot people but for once in a while macro shots it is good bargain.
